Summer Hockey Season
The 2025/2026 summer hockey season for junior and senior teams will begin on October 14, 2025.
As there will only be 1 pitch available at Stead Park because of the renovations, the summer season is only planned for 10 weeks at this stage. More details of the competition after Christmas will be circulated when known.
The competitions are half-field with 7 players per team. Ages for junior summer hockey teams are taken at January 1 2025. No training is conducted over the summer season, but coaching is available through the team coaches.
All summer competition games are played at Geelong Hockey Complex, John St, Corio.
Summer Competition Teams for 2025/ 2026:
Tuesday
- Under 12 Mixed – 5.30 or 6.30 pm. Age 10, 11 or beginner aged 12
- U14 Mixed – 6.30 pm or 7.30 pm. Age 12, 13 or beginner aged 14
- U16 Mixed- 7.30 pm or 8.30 pm. Age 14, 15 or beginner aged 16
Wednesday
- Senior Mixed – 6.30 pm, 7.30 or 8.30 pm. Players must be aged at least 14 as at July 1, 2025.
Thursday
- Under 8 Mixed – 5.30 pm. Age 5, 6, 7 or beginner aged 8
- Under 10 Mixed – 5.30 pm or 6.30 pm. Age 8, 9 or beginner aged 10
- Masters Mixed – 6.30 pm or 7.30 pm. Players must be aged at least 35 as at July 1, 2025.
Friday
- Friday Family – 6.30 pm. Teams consist of adults (male and female), beginners (adults and children) and junior players aged 10 to 15 at July 1, 2025. Junior players aged 16 are counted as adults in this competition.
Costs
Hockey Victoria Fee
Before playing, all players must have paid a Hockey Victoria fee for the 2025 year, either as:
- Hockey Victoria (HV) Membership paid during the 2025 winter season OR
- Hockey Victoria Summer Fee – junior players (<18) $64.50, senior players $78
These Hockey Victoria payments will provide Personal Accident Insurance until 31/12/2025
Newtown Hockey Club team fees
In addition to the Hockey Victoria fees, the Club charges a fee for members to play in a team. Payment of the Hockey Victoria fee and the NCHC team fee are made together through the registration link below. There are no further fees to be paid.
Fees for 2025 summer teams are:
- U8 Mixed – $20
- U10 Mixed – $45
- U12/U14/U17 Mixed – $55
- Senior Mixed – $70
- Masters Mixed – $70
- Friday Family – $70
Uniform Purchases
Uniform requirements for summer hockey are not strict, so a shirt in the appropriate colour will do even if it is not the official club uniform. Uniform information can be found here.
Registration is open for those who are current HV members as well as those who are new to or returning for summer hockey.
Notes:
If you are a current member, choose ‘Returning Member’, fill in the details and then choose ‘Upgrade membership’
If you are a new member, choose ‘New member’ and proceed.
If you are aged U18 and wish to play in a Senior or Friday Family team for summer, please follow this procedure:
1. register for the team in your actual age group and pay the NCHC team fee of $55
2. complete the question at the end of the registration process to let us know which team you wish to play in.
