Newtown Hockey Club is managed by volunteers, without any paid employees.
The Club’s income is derived from fees paid by members, as well as special fundraising ventures. Members’ fees cover about 75% of the expenditure which the Club incurs each year.
The Club aims to keep members’ fees at reasonable levels, with the aim of encouraging more people to participate. Therefore fundraising ventures are a vital contributor to Newtown Hockey Club’s ability to provide an affordable and enjoyable experience for members.
The 2018 target for special fundraising ventures and income not derived from membership fees is $10,000.
The Club is participating in the People’s Choice Credit Union Community Lottery, where all money from each ticket sold goes directly to the Newtown Hockey Club. Tickets are $2 each. The first prize is a Toyota Rav 4 GXL, but there are 100 fantastic prizes in total. Check the 2018-community-lottery-prize-list here.
There is also an Early Bird Prize, drawn on May 15 – a Toyota Yaris Ascent 1.3L Petrol Auto 5 Door Hatch valued at $20,206.
Tickets are available for sale until August 31, with the final prize draw on October 9. Tickets are available online now, and we will have some paper tickets available from May 1.
