Great Work Emma!

With the announcement this week of the teams for the School Sport Victoria 16 and Under Girls Hockey team, Emma Hatton has added yet another highlight to her growing list of achievements.

Emma began playing hockey with the Newtown City Hockey Club at the age of 4, in one of the Minkey teams playing at Lloyd Reserve.  Right from the beginning, Emma was a determined and fearless player.  Emma showed her willingness to work hard as she matured and progressed through the different levels of junior competition, and was a member of the first Hockey Geelong representative team entered at U13 level in the Hockey Victoria competition.

At the age of 12, Emma became a regular member of the Club’s Division 1 Women’s team, all the while continuing to play in Hockey Geelong representative teams, and is currently playing at both junior and senior levels.  The 2013 season saw Emma named as the Best and Fairest Player for the Hockey Geelong VicLeague 1 Women’s team.

Emma has participated in numerous Western Wildcats regional teams in recent years, and has also been recognised for her efforts with State selection.  Emma was a member of the School Sport Victoria 12 and Under team, and has been part of U12 and U14 Victorian Development Squads.  Emma has also been selected in the Victorian U13 Girls team (Captain), the Victorian U15 Girls team, the Victorian U15 Girls Indoor team and the Victorian U18 Girls team (at the age of 15).
